Uh hell yeah. I burp a lot. Yeah, no, I I love my team. I love the um we're talking and we're getting the shit that we're supposed to get done. We're getting it done, and people are showing up when they're supposed to show up for the most part. I'll I'll touch on that in the I'll touch on that in a little bit. But what about your experience? How's it been?

Dude, so um it's been a weird experience. I didn't get uh in in time to do any of the scouting or anything like that. Right. So I kind of got placed where I got placed. Right. And, you know, we've played outside of the league before, and I used to play right wing all the time, and I was very I was fairly decent there. Right. Uh so right now it feels like a lot of those spots have been filled up. Yep. And I'm just kind of like taking over a role that I just haven't done before. Right. And I will say, like, yeah, I've given up some shit. I have given up some, I've given up a goal here or there. But overall, in what I've played in the last week, uh, I feel like the latest games that I played in were a lot better than the very first ones. And uh overall, like, I feel like my team is uh, you know, on the Bruins. I feel like uh we had we had we had we had some kinks to work out, right? And I feel like those kinks are getting worked out as we speak. Oh yeah so I I I I see some good things happening.

Oh so with my experience, I definitely uh feel good about going uh first pick in the third round. Yeah third pick overall for the team. Oh yeah. It made me feel pretty good. Did I live up to it? Fuck no. Fuck no, not at all. But I'm trying. You did more than the first pick. Yeah, no, we'll touch on that. We're gonna get to that. We're gonna get to that. We're gonna get into that. We're gonna get to that. I promise. I promise. So looking at the standings, you got that pulled up? Yep. So looking at the standings, you you have two, three clear runaway, just they're killing it right now.

Surprises And Why Effort Matters

Right. Yeah, I know. But you know, uh, we saw last night, Sunday night, Toronto with his first win. Uh, congratulations to them on that first win. Um, but you know, um, I do see there's been some major changes with the Boston Bruins in the last 24 hours, and I do see us becoming some decent mid-contenders. I mean a little bit of breaking news, right? Uh new owner. Yeah, we we have a new owner. Right. Um you know, I I I don't know what was happening before, but um I'm just happy to see some changes.

Right. What what would you say um your biggest surprises in the league so far? Like, like player anything.

Not not um not the bullshit, but the nitty-gritty. I mean bullshit and nitty-gritty kind of go hand in hand with each other. No, I'm I'm talking on ice, what what is the biggest surprise for you on ice? On ice, I'll be honest. Um, you know, like when we used to play, right, you know, seeing all these uh, you know, 11 to 1 games and just getting blown out when we would play, and seeing how if you actually have a team that's like actually trying to fucking play, not quitting the middle, and not quitting the fucking middle, right, yeah, you can actually like keep a level game. Yeah. And I think that's been the most surprising thing to me so far. And one of the most enjoyable things is you know, just having what feels like an an equal level match.

Yeah. I'd say for me, um I would say with uh Blackhawk, Blackhawk, Blackhawks, Blackhawks. I can't say it. Are you about Chicago? I'm concerned with what you're about to say, dog. I'll be honest. The Chicago Blackhawks, I can't say it good. I got that dumbass accent. You're about to put a C in there. Yeah, on accident. Um the Chicago team, dude, having six wins being in fifth place. I'll be honest, I scouted with them. And uh the original owner was kind of fucking lame for uh uh not better terms. I don't think there is one. Um we man, the the the server wasn't set up correctly. He did zero scouting games. I think he just um maybe drafted his friends. I don't know, but they're doing great, and uh I'm actually surprised at how well they are doing with six wins sitting at fifth place.

I mean, it's you have um 14 to 15 players per team. Right. And only six can play per game. Yeah. So you're looking at different lines just uh game one to game two. Oh yeah.

Biggest Letdowns And Learning Defense

I mean when you can get the uh availability between the players and making sure everybody does show up. Yeah, you can definitely if you if you if you get a good line in there, you're done. Yeah. So uh what's your biggest letdown? Shit. I think my biggest letdown is trying to learn how to play defense when I've mainly been an offensive player in my before this league. Um, you know, I was playing uh my first night I was playing some right D. Didn't really go well. And uh I don't know, I think I did a little bit better doing left D than I did right D. Don't know why. But you're left-handed. Yeah, maybe. But uh, you know, I feel like that might that right there may have been a little boost in confidence. And I don't know. I just need to get out there and practice a little bit more. Right. Um because again, I've always been playing offense when we've been playing, and we've been playing them for a while. So having to switch back to defense and learn that and not want to go past that blue line to try and get up on the net and just try and set myself up for a goal when I know I need to be holding back and watching out for that breakaway.

Dude, yeah, and I find myself over the last couple games just holding myself even farther back than normal, just watching out for that breakaway. Yep. Because I'm not trying to have some I'm not I'm not trying to get beat, you know what I'm saying? Yep. So it's been an adjustment. I don't think it's impossible for me to do. I'm there with it. I'm there to help my team out the best way that I can. And it definitely fucking sucks when you uh get scored against when you get you you get beat. Yeah, all you can say is my bad. Right. That's on the bad. My bad, boys. Yeah, my bad. I fucked up.

Yeah, that's on me. Um my biggest letdown. So I play with the Seattle Kraken. So you were gonna touch on it earlier. My biggest letdown, and probably the league's biggest letdown, and I know my team's biggest letdown is that the number one pick overall did not touch the ice at all during regular season. Yeah, dude. To be scouted number one, clear pick number one, yeah, and to not touch the ice during the regular season is insanity. Insanity, dude. He is the Andrew Luck of this league. Our generation.

That's insane. And I because the biggest thing with this league is like, gotta show up. Show up in communication. Right. Communication is the biggest thing. Like last night, for instance, I could I I couldn't play at all. Was I gonna get played? I don't know, because again, I'm learning to play defense. Right. So I definitely don't put myself as one of the members that are contributing to team wins. Um, but I did say, like, hey, I can't make it. Right. And as long as you communicate that, right, that's a huge thing, versus saying, hey, I'm gonna be there and then not showing up. Right. So that's one thing. Like, we've we've all agreed to do this league, and it's four nights out of the week. Uh you know, just for a couple hours.

Right. I mean, 14 players on a team, uh, six play. Yeah. If you can make two days or make a game a day, I mean, it can be done.

Communication And Showing Up

Yeah, it it it can be done as long as the communication is there so that way these lines can get out in time. Yep. And everybody knows where they need to be, when they need to be. Yep. And you know, first week of everything is gonna have its its hurdles that they gotta get over. Yeah. And hopefully we've uh learned over the last four games uh over this first week what we 12 games. Yep, yeah, four four days, twelve. Four days, yeah, twelve games. Four days, twelve whatever. What are what did I say? You said four games. I might be drunk. Uh four days, twelve games. Uh first week, we've seen where we need to improve on, and we've all, you know, league-wide have figured out like what we need to do to get better at getting our people in place ready for games.
